You can run... but you can't hide! 😅🏃♂️
You may have seen that our officers were out in the Epinal Court area yesterday executing a drugs warrant linked to concerns around drug dealing in the community.
As officers arrived, one male decided that running was a better option than answering the door. Unfortunately for him, he forgot that while he was sprinting, our 🚁 drone was watching from above and our 🐕 police dog team was on hand to assist. Safe to say, it wasn't much of a getaway attempt!
The male was quickly detained and officers later recovered a package containing Class A drugs which is believed to have been discarded during the chase.
A search of the address uncovered:
This successful warrant was carried out thanks to a fantastic team effort involving the NL65 Beat Team, Loughborough NPT, additional neighbourhood officers, the Tactical Support Team, Dog Unit and Drone Unit, all working together to ensure a safe and smooth operation.
Both males have since been released pending further investigation.
Drug dealing and anti-social behaviour have a significant impact on our communities and are issues we take extremely seriously. We will continue to target those involved, act on information provided by residents and take positive action to keep our neighbourhoods safe.
If you're involved in drug dealing, here's a friendly reminder... if the dog doesn't find you, the drone probably will! 🐕🚁👀
